Buenas,
Hoy he tenido el honor de participar en una sesión de software libre organizada por Microsoft españa.
En ella he tenido el honor de compartir mesa con personajes como Simon Brown, Vicepresidente del DPE Field Evangelism de la zona EMEA (Microsoft), Alfonso Rodriguez responsable de comunidades y MSDN de microsoft, José Murillo, ISV Development Advisor (experto en Silverligth y responsable de Emprendia, para que nos entendamos), ah y también de Microsoft. También estuvo con nosotros Salvador Sanchez, de Microsoft.
Por parte de la comunidad han asistido Vicenç Massanes, nuestra leyenda local de DotNetNuke a quien he tenido el gusto de conocer hoy, a Luis Molina, Lleonard Del Rio, Pep Lluis y un servidor.
El tema ha sido muy interesante y hasta hemos podido realizar un wish list en el que nadie ha sido capaz de pedir un solo deseo… ¿podras tomar solo uno? 
En cualquier caso ha quedado muy patente que .Net es un estándar muy abierto, más que Java (la de bofetadas que me caeran por decir esto) y que es una alternativa muy muy factible para el desarrollo de soluciones Open Source, ya que hay muchisimos proyectos y productos OS en .NEt, como DotNetNuke, Enterprise Library, nHibernate, y un largo etc… Tambien destacar que las opiniones contrastadas dan a entender que muchas empresas y organizaciones van a entornos linux y Java porque estan muy asociadas al OpenSource, cuando alguien dice “Open Source” pensamos inmediatamente en el pinguino de Linux y luego, en Java.
Cuando en Linux se puede programar muy bien en .Net (Mono, Miguel de Icaza..) y en Windows también!!! queda claro que hace falta más apoyo y culturización para que se vea .Net como realmente lo que es, un estándar abierto (almenos en su nucleo) y que Microsoft vea que el camino es abrirlo aun más. Ese es mi deseo final.
Como nota, dejo una tarjeta que me llamo la atención y denota la asociación de open source con linux, cosa por otra parte normal.

Como nota de gracia, esta foto lleno la memoria de mi movil, un k800i que me ha aguantado como un campeon un montonazo de fotos que por vagancia aun no he quitado.. un fenomenal aparato… lo que no queda que tenga mis ojos en un htc movil, gps, wifi y pda… por pedir!!

Today I have had the honor of participating into a Open Source session organizated by Microsoft.
In this session I had the honor to share the table with persons like Simon Brown, Vicepresident of DPE Field Evangelism, EMEA (Microsoft), Alfonso Rodriguez community and MSDN responsible of Microsoft, José Murillo, ISV Development Advisor (Expert in Silverligth and responsible of the Emprendia initiative, for our understanding ^__^), ah and he is also from Microsoft. There was also Salvador Sanchez, from Microsoft.
By the community side, have assisted Vicenç Massanes, our local DotNetNuke legend which I had the pleasure meeting today , Luis Molina, Lleonard Del Rio, Pep Lluis and the one writing these lines…
The session has been very interesting and we have also been able to express some wishes and nobody has been able to make just only one wish ¿Can you only have one ^__^?
The thing that has been left as Clear is that .Net is a very open Standard, more than Java (yes, saying this in a blog is a bit risky but that’s what we have been speaking and the conclusion we arrived – and in which I do believe too) And also it is a very attractive alternative for developing Open Source solutions, yet there are many Open Source projects and products based on .Net, like DotNetNuke, Enterprise Library, nHibernate, and a very long list more… Also to say that the commented opinions give to think that many companies and organizations are going to Linux and Jave becouse they are very associated to the Open Source in a fashion way (like branding) when .Net is also a Open Source platform. Also, when someone says “Open Source” we autmatically think inmediatelly on the Linux penguin and, after it, on Java.
That is, when you can develop pretty well in Linux with .Net (Mono project, Miguel De Icaza) and on Windows too!! It is quite clar that there is a need of more culturization on these likely hidden features of .Net (his open face) to see .Net as what it is, an open Standard (at least in its core) and Microsoft to see that the path relies in opening it even more… That is my final wish…
As a note, I leave here a visit card of a shop that called my attention and exposes the association of Linux with Open Source, a thing that is pretty understable, but it’s not all….
It says “Free Software for Free People”, in Catalan language..
And, at least, the photo.. As it looks I keep making photos of me with local idols or cracks, in this case the victims are Lleonard Del Rio, Vicenç Massanas and me

On the fun note, this picture filled up my mobile phone, a nokia k800i… that has supported me as a champion.. Well some day I had to download the pictures to my pc… a great tool… Hopefully will change it soon for a mobile pda with wifi and gps… if it’s for wishes!!!
Bueno, bueno, pues sí que ha sido una tarde productiva, yo particularmente he aprendido bastante de vosotros. La idea era intentar entender un poco más por nuestra parte todo lo que la comunidad está haciendo en Open Source con .NET y ver cómo podemos ayudar. Me ha gustado mucho la parte de los wishes, pero NADIE ha sido capaz de dar solo uno
Sinceramente creo que Simon se ha llevado una lista de peticiones muy interesantes y sobre todo ha visto las ganas que tenéis de hacer cosas. A ver si ahora puede moverlas y las convertimos en realidad!
Realmente ha estado genial. Si alguna de las propuestas (aunque solo sea una) se convierte en realidad dicha reunión ya habrá sido un exito. y cuando digo exito, me refiero Para todos, para la Comunidad y para Microsoft.
Hay una cosa muy curiosa ya que lo mencionas como proyecto open source, no se si alguien me lo podria decir? hay algo que NHibernate tenga que no lo tenga ADO.NET, por que la verdad NHibernte es la traducción de Hibernate (mundo Java / el lado oscuro según con que ojos se mire), pero cada vez que lo pienso no considero que este ORM sea realmente util en el mundo .NET
Sobre la guerra verbal entre .NET y JAVA, no pienso darte una colleja ;-p , se han escrito chorros de tinta, yo personalmente me dedico a los dos asi es que no soy capaz de hacer que una de mis mitades critique a la otra.
